Loved hanging out with Jo (my guide), he had a rich knowledge of the history of the area both from personal history and generational image. I learned a lot about the Mayan people, their culture, the interrelated histories of the Olmecs, Mexicans, and Spanish. Was really enlightening also to learn about the architecture of the ancient buildings. He was also a great picture taker!
